A snapshot into all radio listening
48.9million listeners or 90% of the UK 15+ population are tuning into their favourite radio station each week - On average we listen to radio for 21.3 hours per week.
Commercial radio has a 1% lead over BBC radio with 35,466,000 weekly reach.
The share of all radio listening via a Digital Device is now at 49.9% up 9% year on year!! Lucy McDonald our media planner has shed a tear after she bet with one of our creatives that today would see the digital share of all radio listening at 50%....
62% of listeners tune into Digital Radio each week. With 60% of people listening at home!
Personalised listening is a subject close to our hearts at Radio Results...
...reporting shows that 26% of all adults are listening to radio via a mobile phone or tablet and 35% of 15-24 year olds are listening to radio via a mobile phone or tablet.

Good news for Global Radio, as they lead the way in audience reach with 23.2million and share 19.2% over Bauer and Wireless Group.
Shout out to brands that are celebrating increases in reach over the past 12 months, Absolute Radio (up 21.8%) Capital Xtra (up 20%), Kiss Fresh (up 17.5%), Kisstory (up 22.3%), LBC (up 19.7%), Magic Chilled (up 14%) and Radio X (up 26% to 1.58m)*

The team at Radio X will be celebrating its record audience figures for the Chris Moyles breakfast show and also its biggest reach ever. Moyles’ audience grew by nearly a third in 2017 to 910,000 listeners a week, and the station overall has hit 1.6m for the first time. Chris has continued to grow his audience for the last seven quarters. Hats off Chris!
Capital and LBC have retained their number one spots for reach and share!!!
Kiss and Absolute Radio have witnessed in this quarter great reach and growth also.
The all new Dave Berry Drivetime show on Absolute is showing increased figures and reporting it’s best audience in Absolute Radio’s history. Digital listening at Absolute is now up to a staggering 70%.

Kiss is London’s radio station of choice at breakfast with the highest reaching audience, overtaking Capital this quarter.
Clyde 1 continues to lose listeners – down to one of its lowest figures in recent times at 514,000 weekly reach compared with 624,000 a year ago but still leads the way in Scotland with the highest reach. Here is Scotland's top 5.

Regional radio & ILR headlines
In Commercial Radio, Cool FM in Northern Ireland is celebrating its highest ever reach, as is Gem 106 in the West Midlands.
The majority of Global’s Capital and Heart regional and local stations have seen a drop in figures this quarter.
Capital Manchester leads by reach with over 521,000 listeners and share of 18% over Key 103. Radio X has seen an increase in listenership in Manchester this quarter.
Capital has beaten Free Radio to the top spot in Birmingham.
Radio City 2 will be pleased to announce that they have grown their audience back to where they were 12 months ago.
Some good news for the ILR brands Minster FM’s listening hours are at a ten year high – whilst weekly reach is up to 75,000 from 66,000 a year ago.
JACK fm Oxford is down but JACK 2 makes up for it adding 7,000 listeners in the last quarter, putting it back to where it was 12 months ago.
kmfm Group has a record reach of 206,000 weekly reach, up from 165,000 a year ago.

As reported earlier, digital listening has increased and this has been driven by a boost in listening for commercial radio stations which is up over 50% for the first with an increase year on year from 45%.
A special mention to the smaller radio brands that have also had a successful quarter Chris Country, Union Jack, Thames Radio, Fun Kids and UKRD’s Encore.
